The “Meeting of the Two Dragons,” which recreates the legendary event, is a spectacular sight!り、豊富な温泉、豊かな自然などで知られる観光地。ルリ色に輝く田沢湖には龍にまつわる伝説がある。田沢湖が田沢潟と呼ばれていた頃、院内というところに住むまれにみる美しい娘、辰子がその美しさと若さを永遠に保ちたいと観音様に願いをかけた。満願の夜、お告げのとおり霊泉を飲んだところ龍に化身し田沢湖の主となってしまった。たざわ湖・龍神まつりでは田沢湖の主「辰子龍」と十和田湖を追われて八郎潟の主となった恋仲の「八郎太郎龍」の出会いを再現。全長約30mの二体の龍神輿の舞いは圧巻で、湖上花火が祭りを締めくくる。Dragon Gods Dance! The city is a tourist destination known for Lake Tazawa -the deepest lake in Japan-, samurai residences, abundant hot springs, and rich nature. Lake Tazawa, which glistens in a lurid color, has a legend about a dragon. When Lake Tazawa was called Tazawa Lagoon, a rare beautiful girl named Tatsuko, who lived in a place called Innai, made a wish to Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) to keep her beauty and youth forever. On the night of the fulfillment of her wish, she drank from a sacred spring as she had been instructed, and was transformed into a dragon, thus becoming the Lady of Lake Tazawa. The Lake Tazawa Dragon Gods Festival recreates the encounter between her and “Hachirotaro Ryu”, a love interest who was forced to leave Lake Towada and became the lord of Hachiro lagoon.
