It is filled with Chinese-themed events such as the Emperor’s Parade, where roughly 100 participants in extravagant Chinese clothes surround a float with a Chinese emperor and empress, Chinese mask changing show, dragon dances, and erhu performance. Held on the last Saturday of March in Chijiwa Town, Unzen City when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. They head out of Fukuishi Park after sunset at the signal of the demonstration by the gun troops. The fiery procession then heads towards Tachibana Park in the darkness, where the nightly cherry blossoms are beautiful, while exclaiming the “Iyasaka” shout of victory in prayers for the prosperity of their hometown.
