The solemn dance and sacred atmosphere deeply move the hearts of spectators.の所にある越ケ浜の池畔に社が建立された。この社では毎年旧暦6月17日の夜に、本社の厳島神社と同じように管弦祭が催される。その際、それぞれに提灯と幟旗で飾られた先導船、漕ぎ船、神輿を乗せた神船（みふね）に続いて、巫女船、御供船の順に綱を渡して漕ぎ出す。海上より地区諸々の神々と市内4社（志都岐山神社・住吉神社・春日神社・鶴江神明宮）に対し、舞を奉納する慣わし。昭和46年3月26日に越ヶ浜「巫女の舞」が萩市無形民俗文化財に指定された。毎年、春・夏厳島神社大祭では「巫女の舞」の奉納を行っている。毎年の奉納を実施するために、地域の伝承者が子どもたちを熱心に指導しており、地元越ケ浜保育園での三世代交流や地域交流活動なども積極的に実施している。A treasure of Hagi City, where history and traditions come to life. The sublime dancing and beautiful scenery will cleanse your soul.During the reign of Tsunahiro Mori, second lord of the Hagi domain (circa 1650s), a shrine was built on the banks of a pond at Koshigahama, located around 4 km northeast of Hagi Castle, at the invitation of Itsukushima Shrine in Aki. This shrine holds a music festival on the evening of June 17th of the lunar calendar, in the same way as the main Itsukushima Shrine. In this process, a lead boat, a rowing boat, and a sacred boat carrying a portable shrine, each of them is decorated with lanterns and banners, are followed by a shrine maiden boat and an offering boat, rowed out in that order. It is customary to offer a dance from the sea to the local gods and four shrines in the city (Shizukiyama Shrine, Sumiyoshi Shrine, Kasuga Shrine, and Tsurueshinmeigu Shrine). On March 26, 1971, the Koshigahama Mikko Dance was designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Hagi City. The Mikko dance is offered each year at the spring and summer Itsukushima Shrine Grand Festivals.
