Let us pay attention to their skillful exchange of words.の領地である知多半島に伝わったものが、尾張万歳の起源といわれる。尾張万歳は、扇子を持って祝辞を唱える太夫（たゆう）と、鼓をたたいて合いの手を入れる才蔵（さいぞう）の二人一組を基本としつつ、演目によっては、太夫一人を中心に、才蔵が左右に二人・四人に増えたり、三味線や胡弓を加えて華やかな舞台芸になることもある。正月に家々を回って新春を祝うとともに、家内の安全・繁栄を祈願する祝福芸として長い歴史を持っている。万歳人口が増えるにつれ、芸の修練が進む一方、演技の内容にも創意・工夫がみられるようになり、江戸時代、歌舞伎の流行とともに、三曲万歳（鼓・三味線・胡弓の三楽器を使う）が演じられ始め、明治期に完成した。尾張万歳は上方へ伝わり、現在の漫才へと発展した。Chita's treasure: Owari Manzai. Let's expand the circle of smiles together!Owari Manzai is said to have originated in the Kamakura period (1185-1333), when Muju Kokushi, the chief priest of Chobo-ji Temple in present-day Nagoya, created a form of singing the Lotus Sutra in an easy-to-understand manner, which was introduced to the Chita Peninsula, the territory of the temple. Owari manzai is based on a two-person team consisting of a tayu who holds a fan and chants a congratulatory address, and a saizo who beats a drum and joins in the singing. Depending on the performance, there may be two or four saizo on either side of the tayu, and sometimes a shamisen or kokyu is added to create a spectacular stage performance. It has a long history as a blessing art in which its participants go from house to house at New Year's to celebrate the New Year and to pray for the safety and prosperity of the family. As the number of people performing manzai increased, the art became more and more refined, and the content of the performances became more creative and inventive. In the Edo period (1603-1867), with the popularity of Kabuki, the three instruments (drum, shamisen, and kokyu) began to be used in the performance, which was perfected during the Meiji period (1868-1912).
