At present, there remain 24 rituals and programs of this type of kagura that have been preserved to the present day. Kagura of the central region of Shizuoka Prefecture features sorcery-based dances using offerings of rope, paper, etc., swords, bells, and more, as well as entertaining dances where the mask-wearing dancers interact with the audience, alongside Shinto rituals involving water sprinkling, and more. The kagura of Kiyosawa, among the Kagura passed down in the central region of Shizuoka Prefecture, is known for its superior artistry and flamboyant style. For example, visitors can contemplate some extraordinary carved decorations in five colors on the ceiling of the a local kagura theater. Over the period of 1965-75, leaders of the kagura world form various communities came together with the hope of reviving kagura, establishing the Kagura Preservation Society in 1977. Since that time, the Society has worked to perpetuate kagura in the region.
