The dance is based on a song that foundry workers sang while working, with the highlight being the sight of many dancers performing against a background of timber latticed streets.て、職人たちが、鉄を溶かすために溶解炉に強い風を送るとき、「たたら」という足で踏む大きな「ふいご」を使用した。この「たたら」踏みは重労働であり、弥栄節は、職人たちが重労働の苦痛をまぎらわし、多人数で行う「たたら」踏みの拍子をそろえるために唄われた。弥栄節は、「エンヤシャ、ヤッシャイ」「ヤガエー」の掛け声に合わせて、法被姿に鉢巻き、手に竹の棒を持った男性が地面を強く踏む鋳物師をイメージした踊りが入る。高岡鋳物発祥の地である高岡市金屋町で毎年6月19日に行われる御印祭（ごいんさい）（町の基礎を築いた加賀藩2代藩主前田利長を偲ぶ祭り）の前夜祭で、弥栄節の町流しが行われ、踊り手が町中を踊り歩き、弥栄節が響き渡る。A traditional dance that blooms in a foundry town.Yagae-bushi (known as Yagae-fu) is a traditional work song from the Takaoka foundry that dates back about 400 years. In bygone years, craftsmen used a large foot-powered bellows called a “tatara” to blow strong air into a furnace to melt iron. Treading on the "tatara" was hard labor, and the craftsmen sang the Yagae-bushi to synchronize the large number of people stamping and distract themselves from the pain. The Yagae-bushi includes a dance inspired by foundry workers, with men in happi coats and headbands holding bamboo sticks and stamping on the ground hard, together with cries of "enyasha, yasshai" and "yagaei."
