A boat carrying a mikoshi crosses the Shinano River, protected by a fleet of boats decorated in full sail decorations wishing for the development of the port.The three-day festival culminates with a fireworks display. Music and fireworks will be enjoyed on the Shinano River, which flows through the city of Niigata, in a spectacular way.トリートで9千人の踊り手が新潟甚句や佐渡おけさを踊る。飛び入り参加可能。 　〈住吉行列〉古式ゆかしい衣装を身にまとい、見る人に祭りの伝統を伝える。 　〈水上みこし渡御〉港の発展を願う満艦飾に彩られた船団に守られ、みこしを乗せた御座船が信濃川を横断する。 　〈花火大会〉3日間のまつりを締めくくる花火大会。新潟の街を流れる信濃川を舞台に音楽と花火が華やかに共演する。Niigata Festival has its roots in four festivals! Grand Minyo Parade with 9,000 peopleNiigata Festival, held every August, has its roots in four festivals: Sumiyoshi Festival, Commerce and Industry Festival, Kawabiraki Festival, and Port Opening Festival. The festival includes the Great Minyo Parade, Sumiyoshi Procession, Water Mikoshi parade, and Fireworks display. The “Grand Minyo Parade” is held on the city's main street and is danced by approximately 100 groups and 9,000 people. Niigata Jinku, a representative Bon dance song, features the lively sound of Niigata's unique barrel kinuta.
