A unique folk performing art that has been passed down for over 500 years.The court dances and music of Itoigawa and Nou are performances passed down in two regions of Itoigawa City for over 500 years. Itoigawa Amatsu Shrine is dedicated to the Spring Grand Festival each year on April 10 and 11, along with Nou Hakusan Shrine on April 24, through the performance of bugaku court dances. These evolved from dances passed down to this region from Osaka Shitennoji Temple. Many are performed by small children, so it is commonly called “The Children’s Dances.” Each year, these graceful dances and captivating costumes attract crowds of spectators.A traditional performing art passed down through generations! Children show off breathtaking skill.The Tsukigata Festival, passed down in the Tsukigata area of Niigata City, is officially called the Kakubee Jizoson Festival, and has long been familiar to the local people. Among the events of the festival, the one that draws the loudest cheers is the Kakubee Lion Dance. Children wearing lion masks perform acrobatic techniques such as handstands in time with flutes, drums, and spoken narration, dancing with elegance. In this inspiring dance, he calls forth the light of the setting sun.1999年の廃線まで新潟交通電車線を走っていた「かぼちゃ電車」が、旧月潟駅で公開予定。その名の通り、かぼちゃを思わせる色合いが印象的だ。The “Pumpkin Train” (Kabocha Densha), which used to run on the Niigata Kotsu railway line until its closure in 1999, is scheduled to be on display at the old Tsukigata Station.
