Please check the latest information before planning your visit. 開催日・場所：毎年3月（小鹿野町般若 日本武神社）/4月（小鹿野町小鹿野 小鹿神社）/5月（小鹿野町下小鹿野 木魂神社/10月（小鹿野町下小鹿野 妙見宮、同両神小森諏訪神社）/11月（小鹿野文化センター）/12月（小鹿野町飯田 八幡神社）（小鹿野文化センターの場合）電車・バス:西武鉄道「西武秩父駅」下車、西武観光バス30分「小鹿野役場」下車小鹿野文化センター 0494-75-0063Dates and Place：March (Ogano Town Hannya, Yamatotakeru Shrine) / April (Ogano Town Ogano, Oga Shrine) / May (Ogano Town Shimo-Ogano, Kimusubi Shrine) / October (Ogano Town Shimo-Ogano, Myoken-gu Shrine and Ryokamikomori Suwa Shrine) / November (Ogano Cultural Center) / December (Ogano Town Iida, Hachiman Shrine)(Ogano Cultural Center) Train/Bus: Seibu Railway to Seibu Chichibu Station, then Seibu Tourist Bus for 30 minutes, get off at Ogano Town Hall.Ogano Cultural Center – 0494-75-0063芸座や花道が組まれ、全国的にも珍しい屋台歌舞伎を鑑賞できる。上演されるのは、この地に200年以上も受け継がれてきた「小鹿野歌舞伎」。小鹿野町に住む大人・子どもが役者となり、三味線を奏でる義太夫や裏方まで全てを地元衆が担う、地域に深く根付いた伝統芸能だ。龍の彫り物など豪華な装飾が施された屋台で演じる様は、とても幻想的。小鹿野歌舞伎の起源は今から二百数十年前の江戸中期頃、江戸で修業を積んだ初代坂東彦五郎が帰郷後、近所の若者に歌舞伎を教えたことに始まるとされ、秩父地方の地芝居の伝統を伝える。町内には常設舞台が数箇所残り、現在でも年間6日から7日定期的に上演され、役者から裏方まで全て町内の人々で賄う歌舞伎の町の面影を残している。小中学生による子ども歌舞伎、若手歌舞伎、女歌舞伎の一座も活躍し、後継者への継承も盛んである。近年は各地での公演も積極的に行ない、「歌舞伎のまち・おがの」の名を広めるとともに、地域に根ざした文化創造の主役として活躍している。All the actors and musicians are locals! Marvel at Ogano Kabuki, performed on luxurious floats.The annual festival of Oga Shrine features four magnificent floats and kasaboko (spear-shaped floats) parading through the town. On the evening of the first day, two of the floats are decorated with stages and runways, offering a rare opportunity to enjoy kabuki performed atop floats. This performance, known as “Ogano Kabuki,” has been passed down in this area for over 200 years. Adults and children from Ogano Town serve as actors, and even the shamisen players and stagehands are all local residents, making it a traditional performing art deeply rooted in the community. The performances, taking place on floats decorated with luxurious carvings of dragons and other motifs, are truly magical. The origins of Ogano Kabuki are said to date back to the mid-Edo period, significantly two hundred years and decades ago, when the first-generation Bando Hikogoro, who had trained in Edo, returned to his hometown and began teaching kabuki to local young people, passing down the tradition of local theater in the Chichibu region. Several permanent stages remain in the town, where kabuki is performed regularly six or seven days each year, with all roles and backstage work handled by local residents. children’s Kabuki by students of elementary and junior high school age, youth kabuki, and women’s kabuki troupes are also active, ensuring that the tradition is passed down to the next generation.
