Please check the latest information before planning your visit. ホームページ ▶ https://www.city.shibukawa.lg.jp/開催日：11月上旬場所：上三原田の歌舞伎舞台電車/バス：JR「渋川駅」からバスで10分渋川市教育委員会 文化財保護課 0279-52-2102Date：Early NovemberPlace：Kabuki stage in Kami-miharadaTrain/Bus：10 min. by bus from JR Shibukawa Sta.Shibukawa City Board of Education, Cultural PropertyProtection Division 0279-52-2102地域住民が力を合わせ歌舞伎舞台の操作・造作技術を伝承。Local residents join forces to pass on Kabuki stage operation and construction techniquesの大工により建てられた回り舞台や二重のセリなど、全国的にも例を見ない特殊な機構を持つ舞台であり、現存する農村舞台の中でも極めて貴重なもの。一時、舞台操作技術の継承者が途絶えかけたこともあったが、昭和34年、地域の有志が「上三原田歌舞伎舞台保存会（現在、上三原田歌舞伎舞台操作伝承委員会）」を設立し、多くの人手と熟練を要する舞台操作技術の訓練や後継者育成に努め、農村歌舞伎の公演を地域ぐるみで支え、観光振興と地域おこしに大きく貢献している。この功績により、平成23年度地域伝統芸能大賞支援賞を受賞している。舞台では、地元の三原田小学校歌舞伎クラブをはじめ赤城古典芸能保存会、渋川子ども歌舞伎などの演目が披露される。観客席は、昔から上三原田地区の人達の手により公演のたびに設営され、公演が終わると取り壊されてきた。Unique devices such as the “Kaiten mechanism,” in which the stage rotates 360 degrees under human powerThe “Kabuki Stage in Kami-miharada,” which stands with Mt. Akagi in the background, was built in 1819 by a local carpenter trained in Kamigata (Kyoto-Osaka area). It is a stage with a special mechanism, such as a revolving stage and double “seri,” which is unique in the country and extremely valuable among existing rural stages. There was a time when there were no more successors to the stage operation techniques, but in 1959, local volunteers established the “Kami-miharada Kabuki Stage Preservation Association” (now the “Kami-miharada Kabuki Stage Operation Handing Down Committee”) to train people in operating the stage, which requires a lot of manpower and skill, and to foster successors, thereby supporting rural kabuki performances throughout the community and contributing greatly to tourism promotion and local revitalization. For these achievements, they received the 2011 Regional Traditional Performing Arts Award for Support. On the stage, the local Miharada Elementary School Kabuki Club, the Akagi Classical Performing Arts Preservation Society, Shibukawa Children's Kabuki, and other groups present their performances.
